Since the advent of mobile internet there is always a possibility to be connected to distant people, but this wonderful possibility turned into an obligation. We expect from other people they will respond to us in a few minutes. This pressure to respond ensures we never truly are in the 'here and now' around us anymore.
In an effort to make people aware of this 'interpresence' Anne Lea Reinders, Jesse Smits and I made an installation that plays intrusive waves of ringtones through speakers spread around the gallery it was exposed in.
